Warning Red Flags Pointing to Possible Autism Key to Early Diagnosis
According to the National institute of Child Health and Development, a part of National Institute of Health, the red flags for the child suffering from Autism Spectrum Disorders include the following:
- Lack of response when called by his/her name
- Inability to explain what he/she wants
- Slow/delayed language skills
- Appear to disobey or ignore directions/commands
- May appear to be deaf intermittently
- Child does not wave “bye-bye”
- Regression from saying a few words to none
- Intense or violent tantrums
- Odd/weird movements patterns

- Lack of interest in other kids
- Peculiar walking patterns like walking on toes
- Unusual attachment to toys, objects or strict adherance to schedule
- Spends inordinate amount of time putting things/objects in certain specific order
